A Scribble Thought for Today

I am writing very early this morning, with hope: 

For the day and also as discipline,

Or resistance, or a proclamation, maybe

Of faith, in things that are lasting, real, and true.

I am writing before I am certain

I have clear things to say, and, most

To the point, to be sure, before I have 

Picked up my phone.
